Martial Arts Handwork
Description

And now for something completely different...

You may or may not know this, but before Danny (of Danny & Cindy) found salsa, he trained in a variety of martial arts. While there's no plan to formalize an ongoing class, it certainly would be fun to toss some of it into the mix of summer workshops.

Though the options for content is vast, our time constraints for a workshop are not. As such, this particular workshop will specificly focus on offensive and defensive handwork, using techniques from a blend of western boxing (like you see on TV) and Filipino Panatukan (like you'll never see on TV). The same easy-going, technique-packed instruction style you enjoy in salsa classes, significantly different content.

Here are a few key points about this workshop:

1. No pre-requisite - any size/shape/age can attend
2. Don't worry, no one will be asked to fight anyone
3. No protective gear required, but a mouthguard wouldn't hurt (though also not required - your call)
4. This is a handwork workshop, so you won't be throwing anyone around, nor will anyone toss you
5. We also won't be kicking in this one, so any shoes will be fine, and loose, comfy clothing is recommended

As always, but particularly because this is a new-to-most-people type of thing, please feel free to email us with any questions (dan.cin@halifaxsalseros.com).
